FUTURE AGENDA
The subject matter of this Guideline is futuristic as a whole.
Some of the technologies described in this guideline may take a
decade or more to be fully realised. Some will be woven into the
framework of library services through existing library
automation companies, or will have to be developed by
yet-to-come firms. Other technologies may need to be integrated
as part of customised local projects.
The overall goal - the creation and delivery of content-rich
libraries, museums and archives services through the Internet
and mobile, digital TV and other channels, on a personalized,
user-friendly and universal basis will require more than one –
indeed more than all - of the technologies described in this
guideline
